our life these days....

You'll just have to laugh as you start to look at the pictures below. Sorry if it grosses any of you out. It is just life at our house these days. Mark and I have both had funny incidents with Addelyn lately. I explained each story below the pictures.
We are doing well here. Mark and I celebrated our two year anniversary yesterday. It has been a great, crazy two years already for us with many more years ahead. It will be interesting to see where God takes us in the future. I'm excited because this weekend Mark is planning something fun for us on Saturday and no matter what we do, I'm really excited for some quality time for the two of us. Plus, it is fun to have a little surprise. (And I absolutely love not having to plan what we are doing, that is a gift in itself!)
Addelyn's bathtime routine includes us carrying naked Addelyn from her changing table in her bedroom into the kitchen to her bath. We have done this ever since she was born and never had any accidents. I guess it was bound to happen sometime. The other night she gave her Daddy a little surprise on the trip to the kitchen! :)

So I guess Addelyn couldn't leave me out. Last night we were playing in her bedroom after I got home from work. We were bouncing around a bit and I guess I shook her up a little too much! She unloaded all over my face....I yelled for Mark, who was down in the basement working on something. He came running to my rescue...actually to first take a picture! ha ha

Thanks to cousins Jack and Reed for letting us borrow your swaddle blankets! Addelyn sleeps VERY well at night, all tightly wrapped up like a burrito.

The newest thing for Addelyn is letting out piercing screams of joy. She has quite the loud voice when she is mad- we have known that from day one. But now we have found out we have a loud little girl when she is happy too. Her favorite times to let out these screams are early in the morning. I think she really likes to hear herself!

Thankful for the cross....

Daddy and Addelyn

(I didn't get a picture of what she did next- stuck the book in her mouth of course!!!)

Mommy & Addelyn

What a great weekend, we had a chance to see some of our family and friends and celebrate Easter. Mark and I talked the other night...having a baby has given us a new picture of God's love. After church on Thursday night, Mark said, "Can you imagine sacrificing Addelyn for ANYONE in this world?" The thought actually chokes me up. And that is the love that God has for us...that He gave His only son for us. Pretty amazing love...Wow......It is hard to comprehend. We are so thankful.

Happy Easter to you all.

3 months old!

Our little girl is growing! She is 3 months old today. Crazy how much your life can change in just months. Our love for Addelyn grows every day!

I headed back to work last week. I'll be honest- it was a tough week. I love my job but it was hard to leave Addelyn. I'm adjusting more day by day. Mark and I both are excited at night when we pick her up though...it is so good to see her little smiles. It has been fun, every day we are hearing more noises/cooing from her and seeing more smiles. Today she squealed and surprised us and I think she even surprised herself! :) She has also discovered her hands and we often catch her with a fist in her mouth.
We are still tired and hoping for more nights of more sleep soon but we are doing well and loving life!

New friend, Boaz Bartlett

Our friends Luke and Becky Bartlett had their little boy, Boaz Bartlett, in February. The other night we had the chance to hang out and Addelyn and Boaz reclined in the chairs together! :)

First Trip to Perry, IA

Addelyn took her first overnight road trip last weekend to visit Mark's home town of Perry and see all of the people that have been waiting to meet her. It was quite a fun weekend. Addelyn got to meet her great grandparents, her cousins Jack and Reed, and plenty of other special people at the wonderful shower that Grandma Kathy's friends threw. It was lots of fun. See our pics below!

Ryan Glick (one of Mark's best friends) spends quality time with Addelyn. She doesn't look scared does she?! :)

Addelyn got to meet her cousins, Reed and Jack and their mom, Andrea. They are 8 months old and LOTS of fun!
