Happy Birthday Grandma Kathy!

She has found her feet! The new thing is trying SO HARD to get them to her mouth!

Addelyn wanted to wish her Grandma Kathy a Happy Birthday today!!! She also enjoyed eating the birthday sign. She has been putting EVERYTHING in her mouth these days. She now has TWO teeth, the second one arrived this past week on Tuesday.
We are excited because this week Aunt Jiller is coming to babysit Addelyn during her nursing break. We are looking forward to it. It is a busy week for Mark and I so it will be great to have her help.
Have a great week!

A BIG week for Addelyn

Lots of smiles these days...
Watching TV with Dad
Today Addelyn tried cereal for the first time. She gave me quite the look during the first spoonful but ended up eating it all. She did great!
Addelyn has really had a big week...rolling over for the first time, laughing for the first time, eating cereal for the first time. This afternoon after she got done eating she gave me a big grin. When she opened her mouth so wide, I thought I saw a glimmer of white. I reached into her mouth and touched her gum...yep, there is a tooth breaking through on the bottom! So another first this week!!! 4 months and all sorts of new things!

4 month appointment

Addelyn survived her four month doctor appointment this morning. She came back with a great report. She is weighing 13 lbs, 11 oz. and is 24 1/2 inches long. She is in the 50th percentile for both length and weight. She is in the 25th percentile for her head size. Dr. Van Sickle said we could start trying to feed her a little cereal sometime soon so Mark and I may try that out in the next few days. Fun times, it is a whole new world we'll be entering now!

She also survived her three shots, poor baby. She continues to surprise us and pulled out even LOUDER screams than we've ever heard before. But within minutes, she was asleep and still is. I think those darn shots stressed her out and she is sleeping to cope. :)

She ROLLED OVER last night for the first time from her tummy to her back so that is exciting! She did it once and then we would put her back on her tummy and she just kept rolling over every time. She has reached a new milestone. Once she rolls from her back to her tummy- then I know we'll really have to be careful- to make sure she doesn't roll places she shouldn't (off beds, etc...)

We also heard her first real laugh last night. She has made laughing sounds before but last night she was really laughing for extended periods of time. There is a toy that she really loves- a blue elephant with designs- and everytime we put it in her tummy, she would just giggle and giggle.

We are having so much fun......
That's all for now. Have a wonderful rest of the week!

4 months old ALREADY?!

Just chillin'......
Look at those cheeks! :)

She loves to play!

Crazy to think our little one just turned 4 months old on Friday. We are having so much fun with her. She is changing a lot, day by day. She is grabbing her pacifier- able to put it in and out of her mouth. She is squealing, smiling, blowing bubbles, LOTS of fun stuff like that. Today she ALMOST rolled over from her back to her front. She was bored with that idea quickly though and was onto the next thing. She is a little wiggle worm and doesn't like to sit still. She LOVES her Exersaucer, which are in the pics above. Her four month appointment is this week so that should be fun (despite the few shots that she will get.) We'll keep you posted. Have a great week!

P.S. We can't wait for warmer weather!!! Maybe this week, our fingers are crossed! :)

our life these days....

You'll just have to laugh as you start to look at the pictures below. Sorry if it grosses any of you out. It is just life at our house these days. Mark and I have both had funny incidents with Addelyn lately. I explained each story below the pictures.
We are doing well here. Mark and I celebrated our two year anniversary yesterday. It has been a great, crazy two years already for us with many more years ahead. It will be interesting to see where God takes us in the future. I'm excited because this weekend Mark is planning something fun for us on Saturday and no matter what we do, I'm really excited for some quality time for the two of us. Plus, it is fun to have a little surprise. (And I absolutely love not having to plan what we are doing, that is a gift in itself!)
Addelyn's bathtime routine includes us carrying naked Addelyn from her changing table in her bedroom into the kitchen to her bath. We have done this ever since she was born and never had any accidents. I guess it was bound to happen sometime. The other night she gave her Daddy a little surprise on the trip to the kitchen! :)

So I guess Addelyn couldn't leave me out. Last night we were playing in her bedroom after I got home from work. We were bouncing around a bit and I guess I shook her up a little too much! She unloaded all over my face....I yelled for Mark, who was down in the basement working on something. He came running to my rescue...actually to first take a picture! ha ha

Thanks to cousins Jack and Reed for letting us borrow your swaddle blankets! Addelyn sleeps VERY well at night, all tightly wrapped up like a burrito.

The newest thing for Addelyn is letting out piercing screams of joy. She has quite the loud voice when she is mad- we have known that from day one. But now we have found out we have a loud little girl when she is happy too. Her favorite times to let out these screams are early in the morning. I think she really likes to hear herself!
