hiccups

Last night I was woken up TWICE by the little boy inside of me who had the hiccups, yes, not once but twice. They were body shaking hiccups. A good reminder that my sleep life is soon to be ruled by the schedule of a little one, again. So worth it though! I get excited to meet him- to see what kinda creation a boy is that comes from the DNA of Mark & I.
A few more months and that time will be here.

owies

Addelyn is "into" owies right now. She likes to find them on her body, likes to tell people about them, and likes to make sure we know they affect her daily living and routine.

Two nights ago, she found a small cut on her finger. She kept needing to have a band-aid put on it. Right before bed, she told me she couldn't put her pjs on because it could bump her owie. Or brush her teeth. Then, when she went to help Mark put the gate up in her doorway before bed, she told him she couldn't do it because she had "broken a finger."

dollar days

This week we went to the Youth Pavilion on Dollar Day (which is once a month). LOTS of our friends were there so it made the day lots of fun. We even packed a picnic lunch and ate there. It is a great place for kids- so much to do!
Picture with our friends (missing a few)
Baking in the play oven
Doing crafts

Playing dress up on the big stage. Addelyn was a chicken- my favorite was the tail!

Addelyn and Quinlynn. Need I say more!?

Milking the cow

Harrison driving the car!

The girls were "buying" and "selling" the fruits. There is a cute little store with fake money.

Boaz and Addelyn did some digging!

Avery, Austin, and Addelyn liked the cave. You could draw on the cave with chalk and put on a vest with a flashlight and walk through the dark cave.

Avery and Addelyn on a joy ride! Scary to picture these two in a real car in about thirteen years!!!

two more!!

An easy read. He has an interesting take on things- sharing how many of us as Christians are living as if we don't believe at all. I could definitely agree/relate to many of the things he was sharing & was challenged by some of his writing.

I love Jodi Picoult books. This one was about a mom whose husband and daughter were murdered and then the murderer (on death row) wanted to give his heart to her other daughter (who needed a transplant.) Good fiction reading!!!!

I can't stop reading! I keep staying up WAY TOO LATE because of the good books in my hands. But I am meeting that goal I had of reading more, turning off the computer and TV. So I'll take that.

all smiles

We survived our first trip to the dentist today. Addelyn did great! She was a little uncertain about the whole deal but handled it all very well. She got to watch cartoons while getting her teeth cleaned, wore sunglasses because of the bright light, and chose bubble gum for her toothpaste. They counted her teeth, cleaned them well, and painted on some flouride. She got a balloon and a packet with a toothbrush, a timer, and a pencil in it. Afterwards, she asked if she gets to go back soon and I said, well- in a year or so (thinking she was excited to go back). She said, "Nooooo! I don't want to go back!" So despite doing well, she may be like her daddy and not love the dentist!
She did ask why she didn't get to bring her "bib" home with her. That little mind was working as always, thinking about playing with babies.

Yeah, so I was "that mom" and took her for a sugary cupcake at Scratch afterwards. What a better treat after getting your teeth cleaned ha ha! I also called it a Valentine's day treat too. What can I say, Mom needs a good excuse to fulfill her sugar cravings!

artwork of the day

Addelyn's favorite thing to draw these days are smiley faces. Can you tell?

laughs today

Addelyn makes me laugh.

Tonight she sat at the top of the stairs after knocking down her gate (after bedtime had come and gone). I never even heard her come down until I heard her making a funny noise with her mouth, which I know she was doing just so someone would notice she was up. I walked up the stairs to her and she said very matter of factly- "Mom, you know, sometimes people just can't fall asleep."

Today she walked in on Mark and I hugging and kissing (don't worry PG I promise!). She was in the middle of saying something which changed mid-sentence, "You need to.......STOP doing that you guys!"

cousins

Gotta love this pic of Addelyn with her cousins Autumn and Aiden!
