Why is it that naptime is such a struggle these days? She fights us and doesn't want to go to sleep. Once she does, she'll sleep for two or three hours so it is obvious she needs that nap! We started a sticker chart and she gets to put a sticker on after nap if she doesn't cry or yell before she goes to sleep.
Mark and I were both in the living room after we put Addelyn down for her nap the other day. We listened to her yelling....
"MOMMY! DADDY! I KNOW YOU ARE OUT THERE IN LIVING ROOM! I HEAR YOU! I WANT TO COME BE WITH YOU IN LIVING ROOM! MOMMY! DADDY! MARK! I HEAR YOU!"
Over and over.
Yeah that was a NO sticker day.

LOL it cracks me up when Ri uses our first names.
Dreading the nap struggles- maybe I'll skip them with Riley?!? (please?) right now she ASKS for a nap when she's tired. But I usually only get an hour out of her. I have a feeling Amity is going to give me a run for my money though...
Oh, naptime!! AND bedtime! It's a battle here also. Lately, he'll yell that he has to go pee or poop so he can get out of bed again. I started letting Boaz pick a toy and a book to take to bed with him. (a trick I stole from my sister Katie!) It's helped a ton- then he has something to mess around with until he falls asleep- along with his animals. I also am doing weird things to help him think that my leaving the room is fun... currently he blows kisses that hit me as I dodge them out the door, or he takes a big breath and blows me out the door. Anything to make it funny that I'm leaving him in his bed. Ahhh the things we do to make our kids happy! :) I'm right there with you in this battle!!
hahahaha
Ha. Ha. Dad was also telling me about how she was yelling--is anybody out there? Lol. Oh Addelyn. She's a fiesty one. Look out.
Bedtime was a struggle at our house over twenty years ago, but I still remember the frustration! I got a "marble jar." I just got inexpensive marbles and put them in a little basket. If they went to bed nicely, they got to drop a marble into the marble jar. When it was full, we got to do something really fun. (Which we were going to do anyway!) The jar was quite a motivator. I still keep the marble jar in my living room. I like the look and I like the memory!
