stress in the life of a three year old

Addelyn has battled brushing her teeth the past few days for some weird reason. I don't know where it has come from but it has been a fight. Tonight, Mark carried her into the bathroom kicking and screaming. She was yelling, "No, Daddy, I don't want to be stressed out....I don't want to be stressed out!"

Carter has been doing the same thing! He had always been really good about doing it too. I don't know where it came from either. We've been mostly successful with bargaining with him, saying something like "well if you don't want to brush your teeth, then you won't be able to have cinnamon rolls for breakfast tomorrow." It works a little bit if there is a plan for a treat. The other thing that helps is for Nick to read a book while we are brushing. We've done that one since he was fairly little and sort of stopped for a while because he wanted to sit by himself but now we are bringing that back. I like that better than threatening no sweets. The other thing we do is set a timer or count. That sometimes helps, sometimes doesn't.

Isn't it funny what they pick up?!? Hopefully she doesn't have too much stress!
